 Christmas Cards
and Family Portraits

We had a good time doing some Christmas cards
and family portraits for some clients this year.
It was cold, but, they were troopers!

Bathed in Light

Ahhh....Tea leaves....
Winter is tea time at our home.
The warmth, fellowship and healthful qualities are invigorating.
This was a moment that was too good to miss.

Stuck on the Mountain (Day 4)

Day four stuck on the mountain. The boys are having tons of fun building snow forts and having snowball fights. The sun is out this morning and making everything shine. We typically use the line for drying.

Snow Day Number Two (Stuck on the Mountain)

Day two of being stuck on the mountain. It is 5 degrees outside and I am not to motivated to go photograph. Birds in the front yard are always a good go to subject.

Enjoy the day and stay warm

Snow days at home

Today was amazing! The sun finally popped out and we really enjoyed watching the birds feed on the front porch. During snow days we typically put out an extra amount of food. Looking forward to getting the roads cleared so we can get off the mountain, but we will enjoy while we are here.
Be safe

Winter Neighbors

Every winter we usually get several bald eagles staying around the mountain. This year they decided to stay around our house. It's pretty cool for the kids to witness eagles so close to home.

Backyard Safari

Well, Christmas has come and gone and the toys are getting well used over the break.  Uncle Fish and Aunt Chicken gave some ultra cool gifts to the offspring.  #3 has been wearing out the safari set and has travelled thousands of boyland miles with it.  I had to capture a few moments for posterity.  :)

Cincinnati Arkansas Tornado

The day after an EF3 tornado touched down in the small Northwest Arkansas town of Cincinnati clean-up crews and line-men work to get the town back together. My family and I spent the day together volunteering at different sites. The Red Cross has set up an Emercency Relief Station at a church in Cincinnati. Clean up will be slow, but their are  a lot of people willing to help. Please pray for the families that suffered.

Jimson in Winter

(Datura stramonium)
I have been off schedule with my "somewhat daily" photos with the celebrations of the season.  It's time to get back on track!  My kids were building a fort in the woods and wanted to show me their progress.  So, I grabbed my camera and followed them out!  Photographic opportunities abound at dusk in the woods.

Grandescunt Aucta Labore

Procrastination always forces me to create my daily image at dusk. It doesn't matter, the light is beautiful at dusk. When the season changes, things that were once in splendor droop away to translucent has beens preparing for a different phase of life. Winter is coming on, and the woods are getting ready. They have dropped most of their leaves exposing every flaw, but blanketing the ground for a new sub-culture of activity. Nature takes advantage of every moment.

BY HARD WORK, ALL THINGS INCREASE AND GROW
