Duty and Sacrifice

When I am called to duty, God
whenever flames may rage,
Give me the strength to save some life
Whatever be its age.
Help me to embrace a little child
Before it’s too late,
Or some older person
from the horror of that fate.
Enable me to be alert
And hear the weakest shout,
And quickly and efficiently
to put the fire out.
I want to fill my calling
and give the best in me,
To guard my neighbor
And protect his property.
And if according to Your will
I have to lose my life,
Please bless with Your protecting hand
My children and my wife

Everyday I drive by the fire station on my way into town. We take these brave people for granted, only thanking them in our desperate hour. They face danger everyday. Make it a point to say thanks to your firefighters and police.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!

New Eagle Scout

How fortunate we were this weekend to get to attend my nephew's Eagle ceremony!  He has proven his mettle in pursuit of Eagle Scout over the years and it was great to share in the celebration.

As Mike Rowe said, "The Eagle Award is not really meant for people who need to be dragged across the finish line. It's meant for a select few..."

We are proud of you!

Court of Honor

This image is of my son. He advanced to the rank of 2nd class in Boy Scouts. It was a great evening. He also received several merit badges including one that goes toward Eagle.
